Salam walaykum peace and blessings to all Eid Mubarak to all Muslims around the world. I hope you have a blessed 3 days of Eid. Eid al adha is the time of where the remembrance at the time of the prophet Ibrahim may Allah be pleased with him obeyed the command of Allah to sacrifice his son for Allah. It was at that moment the son of prophet Ibrahim was saved by a sheep. So to mark this event every year Muslims around the world slaughter sheep in remembrance to prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah that he was willing to sacrifice his own son in order to show his true obedience to Allah. It is with the mercy and the grace of Allah swt that he commanded his own creation to come forward to be slaughtered and that creature was a sheep. This is why we must also take care of the sheep whilst it is slaughtered as it has a highly valued meaning in our tradition of Eid al adha.
